Tourism & Recreation

West Virginia has long been home to a host of different outdoor activities that have brought visitors from all over the world. Out of state tourists have flocked to West Virginia for hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing opportunities not found anywhere else. This economic activity has allowed towns all over the state to flourish. Without the continued preservation of our forests, and without the appropriate incentives and opportunities to manage their continued growth, these outdoor tourism and recreation sites will diminish, depriving small businesses, hotels and restaurants of the revenue needed to sustain them.
